I would like to share my most recent healing with you. It was this Christmas Eve, December 2011, when I was preparing our home for family company. The morning was full of happy work and I was beginning to prepare things for dinner when I received a phone call from a family member. The call wasn’t very lengthy but it irritated me.

I continued to prepare the meal when my leg just buckled under me. I had a long day ahead of me and thought, “This can’t be happening! Not now. I have never had a problem with my knee.” Then quickly I realized I had to take control of my thinking so I wasn’t tempted to believe what the world believes about knee problems. Several family members and friends recently had knee problems that they had corrected by surgery. I thought of Jesus’ words, “He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.” And later he added, “… for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world” (John 12:44, 47). I reasoned that God is my protector and savior as Jesus proved.

I continued working, yet moving a little slower. I had to be on my feet most of the afternoon. Without much relief I thought further about the call I had received earlier and how it irritated me. I usually don’t let little things like that bother me, however, it did seem to upset me. I decided I needed to handle my feelings toward this person. I began to see him in a different light, entirely God’s child, unable to hurt or offend anyone. After all, God loves all His children so how can I not love this person!

Family was starting to arrive and we had a wonderful Christmas Eve. I was able to move around without anyone noticing my problem. After everyone left I had some quiet time for study before bed. It was a time to reflect further on my love for each member of our family and to handle this world belief. I found a passage in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, “The world must grow to the spiritual understanding of prayer. … Christian Science reveals a necessity for overcoming the world, the flesh, and evil and thus destroying all error” (S&H 12:5-6). Also, from page 13, “The world of error is ignorant of the world of Truth, – blind to the reality of man’s existence, – for the world of sensation is not cognizant of life in Soul, not in body.”

These statements comforted my thought and I knew that the Truth of this situation was not in my body. I had a pretty good night’s sleep and went to church in the morning to hear the wonderful Christmas service.

Christmas day was also a wonderful day with family and friends and by the end of the day my knee problem had disappeared. My active life has continued. I am truly grateful for the wonderful healing messages that come to us from God when needed. Studying Christian Science and leaning on this teaching for my entire life has been such a blessing!!!
